The Unbelievable Chutzpah of John McCain

The word chutzpah is a word borrowed from Yiddish. I'll let Dictionary.com give you its meaning:

1. unmitigated effrontery or impudence; gall.
2. audacity; nerve

John McCain's statement that the "special interests" are through when he comes to power is perhaps the most blatant example of chutzpah I have ever heard of. McCain is THOROUGHLY tied into the world of Washington power brokers, influence peddlers, lobbyists, and financial fat cats. Charlie Black, one of his top campaign people, is tied into several of the most murderous, brutal regimes on the planet through his lobbying. Phil Gramm, former senator and lobbyist extraordinaire, chief architect of our financial sector meltdown, is McCain's top economic advisor. McCain has as many as SIXTY lobbyists working with his campaign. Does he think, if people knew that, that anyone would swallow this garbage he's spewing about taking on the special interests?!? McCain IS the special interests.

When McCain also talks about the need to change Washington, who does he think has been in power for eight years? Who was that president he avoided talking about with whom he has voted NINETY PER CENT since 2001? How can McCain possibly, with a straight face even, say that he will take on a Washington Republican establishment of which he is an integral part? The mind reels.

There are many, many reasons why the Republicans need to go down in flames this year. But John McCain's unbelievable claims to the mantle of "change" are right near the top of the list.

Does he think we're more stupid or forgetful?
