He-he...the "invisible hand" of the market strikes again

This is about as gross of a misrepresentation of the health insurance industry as I've ever seen. It is simplistic, leftist dogma that does nothing to address the real issues as to why health care may be expensive for some people. How do I know? My wife is the Valuation Actuary for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois, which is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT institution. Joe, if you're looking for a healthy debate and some FACTS on the health-care industry, I've got them for you.

Here are three FACTS for you to shove up your ass GhostKnight. 1) I am a full-time employee with one of the largest, wealthiest media corporations in the world. I have the most comprehensive insurance package offered by United Healthcare, but it is STILL inadequate in the event I get seriously sick or injured. 2) My step-father died of a brain tumor in September. Yes, he had insurance, but the medical bills have forced my mother to declare bankruptcy and effectively criminalized her. On top of that, since her husband is no longer alive, she no longer has ANY health coverage whatsoever, and at 62, she does not yet qualify for Medicare. 3) Nearly every person I know has a horror story about lack of coverage, no coverage, sticking with a shitty job just to hold onto coverage, or being forced into financial ruin as a result of our ridiculous healthcare system. I have witnessed the bullshit firsthand, brother, and if anything, the cartoon undervalues just how ridiculous it is.
