Putting the Pro-War Pundits in Their Place

As part of my continuing act of penance for having been a pro-war Democrat in 2003, I hereby post an essay by the inimitable Harold Meyerson from The American Prospect Online. It's a devastating critique of those opinion makers who pushed us into war without sufficient cause.

Saddam was isolated and neutered in early 2003. I was for the war on what I considered to be liberal humanitarian grounds--the eradication of an atrocious, murderous government. While I'm glad Saddam is gone, I'm pretty convinced that the ultimate outcome of this war be more tragedy, not success.
