Yes I would. I am a teacher and go not get social security because the government does not think that I should get back the money that I investing into the system.
If you contribute 40 quarters worth of work in a job covered by Social Security, you get it, just like anyone else. Those are the rules. Simple, isn't it?
As a teacher (and you know I know this) you will be able to retire earlier than most, and you will be pretty well provided for, so I wouldn't complain if I were you.
