Same speech that we have heard from candidates for the past 30 years. Just more spin. How many times do we need to hear that the races need to get along?

No doubt, selected moments from this speech will be ripped from their context and used against him.

At a MINIMUM, Obama holds the potential to return eloquence to the White House-- it's been sorely missed.

Methinks this is Obama's 'I smoked, but I didn't inhale' moment. Rev. Wright's diatribe is more hate filled than anything Malcolm X or David Duke could have spewed. Obama made too many excuses for Wright's behavior.

Anonymous, I always publish your remarks, but that last one is complete out and out garbage. Wright worse than David Duke? Are you serious?? Did you honestly watch the entire Obama speech? Scout's Honor, now. And if you did, did you really comprehend it? It doesn't seem like it.

Try to imagine growing up in Rev. Wright's shoes. Would America look so great to you? And I would remind you that right-wing preachers regularly damn our country to hell, and not a word is said. Gee, I wonder what the variable here is...

i realize i'm being nit-picky here, and i really like Obama, but I think it might be worth noting that he said that he could not denounce Wright anymore than he could denounce the black community, yet he referred to Wright as his "former" preacher.

like i said, i like Obama, but I like to pick things apart and see if there is any meaning behind them.

Zach, thats cause Rev Wright retired. Thats all.
