Barack Obama's eloquent, convincing statement on his church, his faith, and his pastor is here.
John McCain's crawling to the likes of Hagee, Parsley, Robertson, and the (happily late) Falwell looks pretty disgusting in contrast. And remember:
HAGEE AND PARSLEY ARE CALLING FOR A WORLD WIDE RELIGIOUS WAR BETWEEN CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM. THAT IS A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE THAN ANYTHING OBAMA'S MINISTER HAS EVER SAID.
Got it?

It is a shame that you Joseph caused the AIDS virus and spread it around the world. It is a shame that you are a slave owner and preached it as a "White Teacher." Hate is spread in many forms. It is too bad that you are spreading hateful thoughts.
I grew up in a town filled with right-wing fundamentalist lunatics. You ain't seen hate, pal.
Your anger and hate have covered your eyes to reality. You scare me. Is there a difference between you and a radical bomber of any fundamental group? I am going to pray for you because you need to relax and take a step back for a while. You may have a heart attack or jump off a cliff on your island. If the election does not go the way you see it, what are you going to do?
The reality is that for almost 30 years lunatic right wing hate preachers have been driving the agenda of the Republican Party. These people spew out anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic filth and are lauded by the Rep. leadership. If McCain wins, I won't jump off of anything. It will just be another terrible step toward the death of the United States. As a historian, it's grotesquely interesting; as an American, it's awful to see.
