GOP Chairman Michael Steele Goes CRAWLING to Limbaugh, Asking Forgiveness
Poor Steele. He criticized the Leader of the Republican Party, Rush "Anal Cyst" Limbaugh this past weekend and now he's apologizing and groveling for it. It's almost sad.
Why, it's just breaking my heart.
Heh heh heh.

Great Picture Joseph. You gave me a good laugh this morning. On a more serious note, I believe that President Obama has broken one of his campaign promises of not raising taxes on the middle class. With his tax on oil companies and tax on clean air of energy companies we are all going to see our energy bills go up. This is an indirect tax on the people of the United States. Also he said in a promise that he would not have pork in his tenure as President. The stimulus law has $7 billion in pork and the spening bill is about 25% pork. I am starting to lose faith in his credibility as a truth speaker.
Anonymous, Obama has proposed the elimination of $30 billion a year in subsidies to oil companies, just as he has targeted agribusiness subsidies for elimination as well. The details of the cap and trade agreement are still being hammered out. The stimulus has about $4 billion in earmarks, 40% of which are from Republicans. The total of earmarks is 1% of the bill. The figure on the spending bill is a matter of how one interprets unnecessary spending.

Anonymous, I stand corrected. The earmark total is, as you said, $7.7 billion.
In 2006, the Republican Congress asked for $29 billion in earmarks.
Anonymous, please explain where you got your number that 25% of the bill is pork.
Also, please note that the fact that we won't be wasting a lot of money in Iraq constitutes a real savings for taxpayers.
