Sen. John Kerry said it well. Since the Republicans in the House refused to be honorable and meet President Obama half way, every one of the Republican-sponsored tax cuts in the House bill should be stripped out by the Senate.
In the last two elections, the Republicans have lost 54 House seats, 14 Senate seats, and the Presidency. They're not in any position to demand a DAMNED THING. We won, they lost. Period. America supports US, not them.
It's really pathetic when an oxycontin-ravaged loud mouthed racist disc jockey is the leader of and spokesman for a major political party.

Once again Joseph, I feel sorry for President Obama. He wants a bi-partisan vote, but he can't get even one Republican to vote for it. I think that this hurts his credibility. I don't blame President Obama, I blame the Democratic Congress men and women. I believe that President Obama is doing a good job, but I believe people in his own party are going to hurt his image.

I completely agree; it's clear that it was useless for Democrats to reach out. I personally wrote my U.S. representative to tell him off for voting against the bill.
Valerie, You must live in a state with a republican representative. This is a time the country needs everyone to get on board. I believe that both sides have good ideas to solve the economic issues. Now is the time to pick the right stimulus. Cut the pork and lets get Americans working again. This is were President Obama needs to step in and be the leader WE voted in. Bush could not get the Republicans and Democrats together and that is why he failed. Hopefully, President Obama does not go down that same road.

Anonymous (1), the Republicans, under orders from Jabba the Hut, AKA Rush Limbaugh, are determined to fight everything President Obama does. It's the DEMOCRATS' FAULT THAT ALL THE REPUBLICANS VOTED AGAINST THE BILL? It's THEIR FAULT? Obama compromised with the GOP Thugs, made concessions to them, and it's the DEMOCRATS' FAULT? My sentiments stand: ignore the Republicans, steamroller the Democratic bill through, and tell the whining little Republicans to shut up and sit down.
