I agree with previous comments - you were one of the best teachers I ever had, and one of the reasons I became a history major. Thanks for everything you brought to the job, and good luck in future ventures!!
Although I don't generally post comments, I do check your blog daily and hope you will continue posting your insightful comments, cartoons and articles. I too was a teacher (41 years).
Mr. Miller, here's toasting to your new freedom! You were a top-notch teacher. I am glad to have had the privilege of being there as one of your students near the beginning of your teaching career. I know I speak for many former students who are grateful to have been so positively influenced by you and your teaching, both inside and outside the classroom.
I hope you find your new retirement completely enjoyable.

I didn't know you were a teacher.
Why are you retiring? I have checked your "complete profile" and find not much there.
Farewell, Mr. Miller! You will be sorely missed!
and a damn good one you were :)
you leaving is a big loss for LW
Thank you for your kind words, heather and emily. rf, I've taught for 33 years. It's time to pursue new interests.
