Contact EVERYONE On Your E-Mail List for Pro-Democratic Contributions

Yesterday, I announced my 10 million Democrats times 10 bucks a month drive. You can help. First, contribute yourself. (I have!) Next, contact all your Democratic (and Democratic leaning) friends. Here are some places you can kick in for a Democratic victory in November:
http://www.democrats.org/ (Democratic National Committee)
http://www.dccc.org/ (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee)
http://www.dscc.org/ (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee)
http://pavichforcongress.com/ (John Pavich, Democratic candidate, IL-11)
http://www.actblue.com/ (Act Blue, progressive fund raising site)
The Republicans have money POURING in from right wing fanatics and business interests. In American politics, money=victory. Make sure the Democrats have the weapons they need to win in November and turn this country around!

CBS: No "Bush Bounce" After Zarqawi Killing

I know most of the MSM is hoping that their beloved Georgie will gain in popularity after the (long-overdue) killing of the terrorist bastard Zarqawi this past week, but it ain't happening, at least according to CBS:
Zarqawi's killing hasn't helped President Bush with the public, either. His overall job approval rating remains just 33 percent — down slightly from 35 percent last month — while 60 percent disapprove. [Emphasis added]
Mr. Bush's approval rating for handling the war in Iraq is unchanged at 33 percent, while approval for his handling of terrorism remains just below 50 percent.
The president also gets mostly poor marks on domestic issues, with just one in three Americans saying they approve of how he's handling both immigration and the economy.
Americans are, on the whole, not stupid. They know this country, under the inept and malicious governance of His Fraudulency, is spiraling downward. One killing of a major terrorist, however welcome it is, will not change the overall course of things. Some other polls may give Bush a temporary "bounce" that will be trumpeted by his obedient, lapdog media allies, but it won't last. He's through, and everyone knows it.

Ten Million Democrats X $10 a Month=Victory in November

Think of the possibilities for change in America if we can get 10,000,000 Democratic voters to chip in $10 a month to either the Democratic candidate of their choice or to one of the national Democratic organizations (DSCC, DCCC, DNC, etc.) If started THIS MONTH and continued into the first week of November, we're talking SIX HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS for the Democratic midterm campaign. Think of it--a Republican Party that is inundated by the true, unstoppable power of the Democratic grass roots. And it could be done, if enough of us generate enough noise about this.
In California, 6,745,485 people voted for Kerry. Less than one sixth of them (1 million) kicking in a ten spot monthly means $60,000,000 for Democrats in California (or nationally).
In Illinois, 2,891,550 people voted for Kerry. Half a million of them spending $10 a month means $30,000,000 for Democrats in Illinois (or nationally).
Nationwide, 59,028,439 people (officially) voted for Kerry. A little more than one-sixth of them giving a mere $10 a month helps us meet our goal. It IS doable!
This idea needs our support and our help. We need to get this rolling. The concept is simple. The cost per contributor would be small. But the cumulative effect would be huge. Additionally, since 2006 will be a BASE ELECTION, this movement would rally our base STRONGLY.
No more talk; no more beating around the Bush (ha!). Let's hit those right wing bastards with $600,000,000--and watch them go down to defeat--Big Time, as Cheney would say.
(Thanks to Dave Leip's site for the stats.)

Democrats, Nationalize the 2006 Election!!

In this time of unprecedented discontent with Bush and Cheney, it is IMPERATIVE that the Democrats make the 2006 election ABOUT THEM. The election must be treated as a referendum on Bush. Period. Democracy Corps (by way of Emerging Democratic Majority) has the evidence:
Disillusionment with Bush has grown so strong that our tests show that a Democrat who runs against Bush and the Republicans performs better than one who runs only against the Republican incumbent.
Read the whole post, and check out the link to the original Democracy Corps study. It's powerfully eye-opening. Our message should be simple:
IF YOU WANT TO VOTE AGAINST BUSH THIS YEAR, VOTE DEMOCRATIC.
IF YOU WANT TO VOTE TO SAVE AMERICA'S FUTURE, VOTE DEMOCRATIC.
Period.

Right Wing Fanatics at Wall Street Journal Trying to Remove Fitzgerald

The Wall Street Journal's editorial page, long a cesspool of right wing lunacy, is now engaged in an apparently coordinated attempt to have Patrick Fitzgerald--a man of impeccable integrity--removed from the Plame invesitigation and replaced with a Bush toad. This post has the goods:
All is quiet from the prosecutors of “Scooter” Libby, a traitor in our midst.

But that didn’t keep the Wall Street Journal from issuing an editorial salvo against the squeaky clean U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.

What’s more astounding is that the Wall Street Journal editorial posted on June 6, 2006, still claims that the Niger uranium allegations were true. This is all the more remarkable considering that Vanity Fair just published an article in which 9 former intelligence and military officers, on the record, declared that the Niger uranium claims were a deliberately deceptive action taken on the part of the White House.

The Wall Street Journal editorial page has been known for being more skilled in fiction writing than providing opinion and once again this attack on Patrick Fitzgerald, a U.S. Attorney enforcing the law, proves this to be true.
The National Review has joined in the attack, and a few weeks ago I saw disgusting Republican troll Ben Stein refer to Fitzgerald as a "thug". (My God, coming from one of Nixon's die-hards, that really is psychological projection.) You can bet your bottom dollar that this is all ultimately coming from and being coordinated by Traitor Karl Rove, who is in fear of his own possible indictment.
Well, I guess if a cancerous tumor was conscious, it would be frightened of the surgeon who was coming to cut it out.

Great Satire: Meet the Press in Hell

Wherein Jesus is forced to argue with Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, and the head of the Republican National Committee, Satan.
Sounds eerily familiar, somehow.

The Mainstream Media: Enemy of the Democratic Party

Perhaps the most preposterous lie that's commonly bandied about is the myth of the "liberal media". Nothing could possibly be farther from the truth. In point of fact, the media have shown relentless, persistent hostility to any Democrat of any persuasion, center or center left. It doesn't matter who they are, they are attacked as dishonest, "inauthentic", or worse. What's more, right wing Republican fanatics and pathological liars, such as the Swiftboat Scum, are constantly given prominent platforms from which to attack the Democrats. Examples in this article abound:
  • The absurd, almost insane obsession with the so-called "Whitewater Scandal", which was driven entirely by idiots in the press, on the basis of no evidence whatsoever. And yet, this "story" was kept alive SOLELY as a means to attack Bill Clinton.
  • The persistent and vicious smearing of Al Gore, faithfully recorded by Bob Somerby in The Daily Howler. A myth of "lying Al Gore" was created, while George Bush was thrown softball questions by adoring "journalists" and allowed to get away with every lie imaginable.
  • The ugly, lying attacks on John Kerry's distinguished service record, aided and abetted by Bush's sympathizers and apologists in the media.
  • The campaign to now smear the heroic Marine veteran John Murtha, Democratic U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania.

Enter Democratic Rep. Jack Murtha. Murtha is, by general consensus, a conservative Democrat. A U.S. Marine and a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Ranking member of the Defense Appropriations committee. The kind of politician the media tends to refer to as a "pro-military Democrat" (buying into the ridiculous and offensive right-wing smear that most Democrats are anti-military). A serious, plain-spoken man with an impeccable record of serving his country and a "leading Democratic hawk."

Surely, if Clinton, Gore, Dean, and Kerry faced such abusive media coverage because of there own faults, [This argument is used ironically by the post's author.-JM] here was a Democrat who didn't share those flaws.

Of course, Murtha has been the target of relentless attacks anyway. Bill O'Reilly calls him a coward. (Yes, that Bill O'Reilly.) James Taranto calls him "pro-surrender." The Washington Post dutifully gives prominent coverage to thinly sourced smears of Murtha's military record (sound familiar?) Chris Matthews lies about Murtha's proposal to withdraw troops from Iraq as soon as possible. And Fox News gives John O'Neill, who spearheaded the Swifties' smears of John Kerry, airtime to do the same to Murtha.

Bill O'Reilly, draft dodger and sex pervert, is calling Murtha a coward? And nobody has decked his ugly, shriveled ass for that?? What in the hell is going on?

The Republican Party is killing America, leading it to utter disaster as surely as you and I exist. But how can the Democrats hope to stop it when the media constantly denigrate, belittle, and lie about their leaders? Only the alternative media, such as this blog, Daily Kos, and thousands of others like it, can hope to convey the truth.

The press is the enemy of the Democratic Party. That makes them my enemy. I will act with this fact in mind--and I don't give my enemies any quarter.

Why I Basically Ignore Most of the "News"

On the front page of Excite tonight is the breathless story that--brace yourself--Paris Hilton has had a fender bender!
Yes, it's true--the World's Most Useless Human accidentally backed into somebody. This merited an item from the Associated Press.
Am I supposed to give a shit?
This kind of crap is EXACTLY what's wrong with the reporting of news. It's a minor example of the horrible, misplaced priorities of our celebrity-driven "infotainment" system, where irrelevant garbage is highlighted and dwelled on relentlessly and important events are underreported or completely ignored. For the record, I don't give a rat's ass about anything having to do with:
  • Paris Hilton.
  • Tom Cruise.
  • Any other useless, airheaded "celebrity"
  • The 200th consecutive day of coverage of an attractive young female tourist who has mysteriously disappeared.
  • Game show competitions.
  • "Reality" TV.
  • Bread products that look like Mother Teresa.
  • The latest diet fad.
  • "News" from the fashion world.
  • Wacky home videos.
  • And about 90% of the bullshit that passes for news in this freaking country.

My GOD, what a screwed up culture we live in.

Right Wing Lunatics Can Say ANYTHING They Want and Not Be Shunned

This post in Washington Monthly is exactly on the mark: right wing idiots can spout any drivel, any filth, any obscenity and still be welcomed with open arms by the Republican Party. As Steve Benen notes (commenting on the despicable Ann Coulter and her vicious attack on 9/11 widows):
In the broader context, I've always been curious what it takes for a conservative to reach genuine pariah status in the political world. Last fall, Bill O'Reilly suggested that it'd be fine with him if al Queda attacked a major American city. There were no apparent adverse consequences. In 2001, just 48 hours after 9/11, Jerry Falwell said liberal Americans were to blame for the attacks and said the nation "deserved" to be hit by terrorists. Five years later, he's hanging out with John McCain as if he were a credible figure in Republican politics, which he unfortunately is. It's easy to pull equally disturbing comments from Limbaugh, Robertson, Dobson, etc. Not one lost his status as a leading conservative voice.
That's about right. Conservatives can say or do anything they want and not get called on it, either by their party or most of the mainstream media. By the way, in the discussion that followed this post, I loved these comments:
Well, he could shoot an old man in the face...no, wait.

Oh, yeah, he could be exposed as a gay prostitute...no, that's not it either...

Perhaps if he harmed national security by revealing the name of an undercover CIA agent for partisan political gain....no, not really....

Hmm, he could be revealed to be a gigantic crook who's been enriching himself for years by stealing the taxpayer dollars of hard-working Americans...huh, no, that doesn't work either, does it....

What if he sold sold weapons to the Iranian mullahs and then lied about it to Congress...or sold weapons to Saddam Hussein and looked the other way while he massacred the Kurds....or held hands with the repressive Saudi monarchs....or brazenly broke the law by spying on Americans in their homes....

Man, this is a harder question than it looks....
Maybe he could go AWOL from his military service and then lie about it....no, that's not it...
Perhaps he could lose $8 million dollars gambling while pretending to be an expert on ethics and virtue....no, huh?

What if he moved his mistress into his mayoral mansion, openly cheated on his wife with her, and had his mistress march alongside him in official New York City parades....that's not gonna do it either, hey?

Well, what if he served his wife with divorce papers while she was lying in a cancer ward...not good enough, you say....OK, what if that same guy had cheated on his second wife with an office aide who was 25 years younger than him....still not?

What if he was a notorious Southern racist who had a secret black child from a 15 year servant girl he'd raped....ok, fine, no....

Perhaps if he was a drunk driver with multiple arrests?..what about an Oxycontin addict...?...what if he sexually harassed his female employees and was overhead on tape detailing his lurid fantasies about falafel and loofahs....?

OK, wait, I'm sure I can think of something....
Heh heh heh.

Good Riddance! Murdering Butcher Zarqawi is Dead

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, mastermind of so much of the horrible violence that has torn through Iraq, is finally dead. This is a victory that all decent people can rejoice in. Zarqawi was a brutal fanatic to whom human life meant absolutely nothing. He was willing to slaughter anyone, including tiny children, in the furtherance of his cause. I'm glad he's dead, and to hell with him.
However, one troubling fact about this still bothers me: why did it take so damned long to kill this son of a bitch? There are some disturbing answers to this question (in this case from 2004):
NBC News has learned that long before the war the Bush administration had several chances to wipe out his terrorist operation and perhaps kill Zarqawi himself — but never pulled the trigger.

In June 2002, U.S. officials say intelligence had revealed that Zarqawi and members of al-Qaida had set up a weapons lab at Kirma, in northern Iraq, producing deadly ricin and cyanide.
The Pentagon quickly drafted plans to attack the camp with cruise missiles and airstrikes and sent it to the White House, where, according to U.S. government sources, the plan was debated to death in the National Security Council.
“Here we had targets, we had opportunities, we had a country willing to support casualties, or risk casualties after 9/11 and we still didn’t do it,” said Michael O’Hanlon, military analyst with the Brookings Institution.
Four months later, intelligence showed Zarqawi was planning to use ricin in terrorist attacks in Europe.

The Pentagon drew up a second strike plan, and the White House again killed it. By then the administration had set its course for war with Iraq.

“People were more obsessed with developing the coalition to overthrow Saddam than to execute the president’s policy of preemption against terrorists,” according to terrorism expert and former National Security Council member Roger Cressey.

In January 2003, the threat turned real. Police in London arrested six terror suspects and discovered a ricin lab connected to the camp in Iraq.

The Pentagon drew up still another attack plan, and for the third time, the National Security Council killed it.

Military officials insist their case for attacking Zarqawi’s operation was airtight, but the administration feared destroying the terrorist camp in Iraq could undercut its case for war against Saddam. [Emphasis added]
Yes, promoting the Iraq war was more important than killing one of the worst terrorists on the planet. Everything was subordinated to Bush's pathological obsession with attacking Iraq.
Eric Alterman rightly says:
So there you have it. Bush didn’t go after Zarqawi because he was useful in developing an argument for war—even though that argument was based on lies. Tens of thousands have died, trillions of dollars have been wasted and who knows how many terrorists have been created as a result of his all-but-criminal negligence.
There is little I can add. Yes, I'm very happy Zarqawi is dead. But it should have happened three years ago. That it didn't is yet another example of the pathetic "leadership" shown by the worst president in American history.
Period.

9/11 Widows Respond to GOP Piece of Human Garbage Coulter

The fact that right wing Republican scum Ann Coulter continues to be given a microphone into which she can vomit her filth and slander speaks ill of our political process. On the Today show yesterday, this example of walking excrement viciously attacked the 9/11 widows, saying they were "enjoying" their husbands' deaths and implying that these "harpies" (her word) were probably going to be divorced by their husbands before the latter were killed. Today, in a powerful and dignified statement, a group of 9/11 widows responded:
We did not choose to become widowed on September 11, 2001. The attack, which tore our families apart and destroyed our former lives, caused us to ask some serious questions regarding the systems that our country has in place to protect its citizens. Through our constant research, we came to learn how the protocols were supposed to have worked. Thus, we asked for an independent commission to investigate the loopholes which obviously existed and allowed us to be so utterly vulnerable to terrorists. Our only motivation ever was to make our Nation safer. Could we learn from this tragedy so that it would not be repeated? We are forced to respond to Ms. Coulter’s accusations to set the record straight because we have been slandered.
Contrary to Ms. Coulter’s statements, there was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again. We adored these men and miss them every day.It is in their honor and memory, that we will once again refocus the Nation’s attention to the real issues at hand: our lack of security, leadership and progress in the five years since 9/11.
G-d damned right! As I've said many times, I'll say again: in any decent society Ann Coulter would be in an asylum for the criminally insane instead of on national television. However, she does serve one important function: she continues to show the American people what the genuine essence of the Republican Party is.

Ann Coulter IS the Republican Party.

UPDATE: Check out this GREAT Keith Olbermann video

Thoughts on the Primary Elections Yesterday

  • In CA-50's congressional race, the Republicans had to spend $4.5 million in a vicious smear campaign to win a deeply GOP district by 4.5 points, a district they won by 22 in 2004. I fail to see how this is good news for the national Republicans. CA-50 is gerrymandered to be a Republican seat. San Diego is in it. And they won it by less than 5. An ill omen for the right.
  • In Alabama, Theocrat Roy Moore ("Mr. Ten Commandments") was crushed in the Republican primary for governor by a 2-1 margin. I guess even Southern Republicans are getting sick and tired of being preached at in political campaigns.
  • Also in Alabama, the Democratic primary apparently pulled in slightly more voters than the Republican one. Interesting.
  • Now, the Democratic campaign effort must go into high gear. Republican Senate candidates are vulnerable in Montana, Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Ohio. A Democratic gain of 25-30 in the House is quite doable. Schwarzenegger can be dumped in California. Governorships in Ohio and New York are there for the taking.
  • In my district, the Democratic candidate is JOHN PAVICH. Send him some love!

A Golden (State) Oldie: Arnold's Neighborhood

A pretty funny animation from the campaign of California's next governor, Phil Angelides. I've run it before, but hell, it's worth a repeat.

Little Ricky: Sex Pervert

This post on AmericaBlog reminds us of what a frightening, totalitarian fascist Rick Santorum actually is. It is his belief that the state has the right to regulate the most initimate human sexual conduct. In debate in the Senate today, Santorum revealed himself once again, as clearly as humanly possible:
Santorum is railing against the recent Supreme Court decision, Lawrence v. Texas. That's the decision that rules that states can no longer throw gay people in jail simply because of who they are (up until then, several states made "sodomy" a crime - and remember, sodomy includes oral and anal sex, both heterosexual and gay). So, Rick Santorum is upset that states can no longer throw gay people in jail. Rick Santorum is upset that analingus, cunnilingus and fellatio are no longer crimes in America, even for heterosexual married couples. Rick Santorum thinks this is what the United States Congress should be spending its time and money debating.
But oh, it gets even better again.Santorum just spent a lot of time defending Justice Scalia's dissent in the case. Santorum agrees with Scalia's dissent. That would be the dissent in which Scalia said the following:

State laws against bigamy, same-sex marriage, adult incest, prostitution, masturbation, adultery, fornication, bestiality, and obscenity are likewise sustainable only in light of Bowers’ validation of laws based on moral choices. Every single one of these laws is called into question by today’s decision; the Court makes no effort to cabin the scope of its decision to exclude them from its holding. [Emphasis added.]
Yes, Rick Santorum just made the entire debate about masturbation and oral sex.
Incredible. This son of a bitch thinks he has the right to tell us what to do in the privacy of our own bedrooms. How DARE he?!? Where does he think he gets the authority to do so? From his sick and perverted understanding of God?
And another thing: why the hell isn't this clown talking about anything that really matters to people, such as Iraq, the economy, the deficit, gas prices, health care? Because the Republicans are getting crushed on these issues for one. But in a larger sense, he doesn't give a rat's ass about these issues. What matters to him is whether people are having oral sex or whacking off. To me, that's the definition of a sex pervert.
The latest Rasmussen poll has Santorum 23 points behind Pennsylvania's next senator, Bob Casey. Good. I don't just want to see him defeated, I want to see him crushed and humiliated. I want the message to these damned right wing bastards to be loud and clear:
Stay the fuck out of my bedroom.

The "Marriage Amendment" is a Fraud

As Marty Kaplan on Huffpo demonstrates here, the so-called "marriage amendment" outlawing gay marriage is simply part of the outrageous game Karl Rove is playing to divert our attention away from the various catastrophes spawned by the Bush Admnistration. You say Iraq is imploding? Gays want to marry! You say our country's debt-ridden economy is on the brink of disaster? Gays want to marry! You say our disaster preparation is a joke? Gays want to marry! You say Bin Laden is still on the loose? Gays want to marry! You say the environment is under siege? Gays want to marry! You say health care costs are eating people alive? Gays want to marry!
You get the picture.
This naked, disgusting pandering to the vicious rightwing fanatics that make up the core of the Republican Party is nothing but a distraction. Along with Bill Frist's utterly idiotic anti-flag burning measure, it is an attempt to get us to ignore a set of problems so grave that if said problems are not addressed, our country will face inevitable collapse. The Republicans have NOTHING to run on this year, absolutely NOTHING. Our country is a mess and over 70% of our people know it. Faced with electoral ruin, the Republicans are going to try what they do best: appeals to hatred, bigotry, and fear.
Only you and I can stop them from making it work--again.

WTF?? New Video Game Urges "Christian" Kids to Kill Unbelievers

You think I'm joking? I wish I were. Check this out.

These are some truly sick bastards. Every so often, the mask falls off the face of the lunatic Religious Right and you see it in all its hideous, ghastly clarity. Sane Christians need to denounce this garbage.

Bush to Veterans: Drop Dead (Again)

There is so much dishonesty and hypocrisy in the Bush White House that it's hard to get outraged by all of it, but one thing still pisses me off mightily. That's the argument that Bush is "pro-military". Bullshit. This editorial nails that lie decisively:
Today, many of President Bush's strongest supporters call the VA a welfare system. His critics claim he is working to dismantle the VA, to ultimately privatize its services.

Bush, who sends soldiers to risk their lives every day in Iraq, strongly supports rescinding the lifetime healthcare benefits promised to WWII and Korean veterans. His proposed budgets, despite dollar amount increases, don't factor in inflation or the increasing numbers of veterans needing healthcare, and thus have repeatedly failed to fully fund benefits to the men and women who have served our country.

Consequently, VA hospitals and clinics have closed, many veterans' healthcare programs have been cut back or eliminated, entire groups of vets have been denied eligibility for service, and those that are eligible may wait months and even years for appointments and necessary surgeries at the remaining VA facilities.

But the president lectures us about the importance of supporting our troops.
Bush is the ultimate poseur. He is a fraud who let American taxpayers train him to fly and then refused service in Vietnam. He walked away from his National Guard commitment early. He played dressup in that disgusting, revolting display on an aircraft carrier in May 2003. He attacks genuine war heroes in the most vicious, dishonorable ways possible. And he pretends to be a friend of veterans. But in reality Bush thinks that veterans are only welfare deadbeats to be screwed just like anybody else who doesn't have a lot of money. He hides behind the PR facade of support for our troops while flipping them off behind their backs.
Bush: a national disgrace and a complete, utter coward.

Just a Reminder of Who Has and Who Has Not Served Our Country

Memorial Day weekend is certainly a time for reflection, prayer, and gratitude toward those who have served our nation's armed forces. It's also a time to remind ourselves about a fundamental truth: most of the members of our conservative political class talk a good game, but when it comes to crunch time, they avoid putting themselves in harm's way. This wonderful list of those who did and did not serve makes this point clearly. Among the loud-mouthed "patriotic" rightwingers who avoided or refused military service (or who served in a strictly non-combat capacity) are the following:
Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert - avoided the draft, did not serve.
Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey - avoided the draft,
did not serve.
House Majority Leader
Tom Delay - avoided the draft, did not serve (1). "So many minority youths had volunteered ... that there was literally no room for patriotic folks like himself."
House Majority Whip Roy Blunt -
did not serve
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist - did not serve. (An impressive medical
resume, but not such a friend to cats in Boston.)
Majority Whip Mitch McConnell, R-KY -
did not serve (1)
Rick Santorum, R-PA, third ranking Republican in the Senate -
did not serve. (1)
Former Senate Majority Leader
Trent Lott - avoided the draft, did not serve.
Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld -
served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as an aviator and flight instructor. (1) Served as President Reagan's Special Envoy to the Middle East and met with Saddam Hussein twice in 1983 and 1984.
GW Bush - decided that a six-year Nat'l Guard commitment really means
four years. Still says that he's "been to war." Huh?
VP Cheney - several deferments (
1, 2), the last by marriage (in his own words, "had other priorities than military service") (1)
Former Att'y Gen. John Ashcroft - did not serve (
1, 2); received seven deferment to teach business ed at SW Missouri State And They Call Him General -->
Jeb Bush, Florida Governor -
did not serve. (1)
Karl Rove - avoided the draft, did not serve (
1), too busy being a Republican.
George Will, did not serve
Chris Matthews, Mediawhore, did not serve.
Bill O'Reilly, did not serve
Paul Gigot, did not serve.
Bill Bennett, Did not serve
Pat Buchanan, did not serve
Rush Limbaugh, did not serve (4-F with a 'pilonidal cyst' [see "The Rush Limbaugh Story" by Paul D. Colford, St. Martin's Press, 1993, Chapter 2: Beating the Draft.])
Michael Savage (aka Michael Alan Weiner) - did not serve,
too busy chasing herbs and botany degrees in Hawaii and Fiji
John Wayne,
did not serve
Pat Robertson - claimed during 1986 campaign to be a "combat veteran." In reality, was a "
Liquor Officer."
Bill Kristol, did not serve
Sean Hannity, did not serve.
Kenneth Starr, did not serve
Antonin Scalia, did not serve
Clarence Thomas, did not serve
Ralph Reed, did not serve
Michael Medved, did not serve
Charlie Daniels, did not serve
Ted Nugent, did not serve
Country Singer Toby Keith, did not serve. (1
)
Radio Host Phil Hendrie, did not serve.
Pretty impressive list, huh? Oh, and while you're checking out the page, note the long list of prominent Democrats who actually did go to war and risked their lives for our country.
Conservatives: Proving again that talk is cheap.
